口譯中定語(yǔ)的位置問題

總的說(shuō)來(lái)，漢語(yǔ)定語(yǔ)位置比較固定，處在被修飾語(yǔ)之前；英語(yǔ)定語(yǔ)的位置比較靈活，前置、后置均可。在口譯時(shí)應(yīng)盡量使用前置定語(yǔ)，這樣可順應(yīng)漢語(yǔ)思維方式，心理壓力較小。但如果在前面漏譯了定語(yǔ)，也不必慌張，通常不需退回重譯，可想方設(shè)法在后面補(bǔ)上。如定語(yǔ)很多，口譯時(shí)一下子未全部譯出，也可使用分拆的辦法，將定語(yǔ)分成兩組分別處理。在口譯中如一時(shí)想不出如何譯某—定語(yǔ)，還可將定語(yǔ)轉(zhuǎn)換成其它結(jié)構(gòu)。畢竟口譯不必像筆譯那么精確，譯出主要意思即可。

剛剛閉幕的全國(guó)人代會(huì)通過了修改憲法。
The just concluded National People's Congress session has adopted the Amendment to the Constitution．
前置定語(yǔ)“剛剛閉幕的”通常譯為后置定語(yǔ)(which has just concluded)?，F(xiàn)使用前置定語(yǔ)The just concluded，雖然新聞體味道較重，但卻符合漢語(yǔ)思維方式。
這也會(huì)對(duì)下一個(gè)世紀(jì)的全球和地區(qū)的戰(zhàn)略平衡與穩(wěn)定帶來(lái)非常不利的影響。

如能盡量使用前置形容詞結(jié)構(gòu)可使譯文簡(jiǎn)化，并符合漢語(yǔ)語(yǔ)序：the next century's global and regional strategic balance and stability。如使用過多的后置結(jié)構(gòu)譯員往往感到很累：the strategic balance and stability in the whole world or in a certain region in the next century。
改革中國(guó)電訊工業(yè)的體制。will also exert a negative impact on the Now we are reforming the system of China's telecommunications industry．
“中國(guó)(的)”可以譯成China’s或(the)Chinese。但在口譯中時(shí)間很緊，最好譯成China's，否則還要考慮Chinese之前是否要添加the。

定語(yǔ)的前后安排
例 中國(guó)一直奉行獨(dú)立自主的和平外交政策。
China pursues an independent foreign policy of peace.
“政策”前有3個(gè)定語(yǔ)“獨(dú)立自主”、“和平”、“外交”。因?yàn)橛⒄Z(yǔ)定語(yǔ)的位置較靈活，英譯時(shí)不要花太多的時(shí)間去思考定語(yǔ)的位置，幾乎可以以任何定語(yǔ)開頭。除了此譯員的譯法，還可譯為 an independent peaceful policy for diplomatic affairs/A foreign policy of independence and peace等。
第二是開放中國(guó)的電訊市場(chǎng)，讓外國(guó)資本進(jìn)入中國(guó)的電訊市場(chǎng)。

英語(yǔ)的定語(yǔ)位置比較靈活，應(yīng)充分利用?！爸袊?guó)的電訊市場(chǎng)”可譯為China's (the Chinese) telecommunications market。但有時(shí)譯員可能開始漏譯了China's，直接譯出了telecommunications market。這時(shí)不必退回去重新譯，可在后面補(bǔ)上in China或of China

多定語(yǔ)的分拆 
?例 中日雙方共同宣布：把今后的中日關(guān)系定位為“中國(guó)日本致力于和平與發(fā)展的友好合作關(guān)系”。
The two sides also announced that they agree to define the future Sino-Japanese relation as a partnership for friendship and cooperation, for peace and development．
“伙伴關(guān)系”前面的定語(yǔ)較多，有“和平”、“發(fā)展”、“友好”、“合作”4個(gè)定語(yǔ)。由于口譯時(shí)時(shí)間緊迫，要迅速處理四個(gè)定語(yǔ)，還要兼顧搭配關(guān)系，有一定難度。此譯員先譯出“partnership for friendship and cooperation，剩下兩個(gè)定語(yǔ)似乎不太容易連接上去，于是此譯員采用并列結(jié)構(gòu)for peace and development，再補(bǔ)譯上去。當(dāng)然，這里還有其它譯法。如能譯成前置定語(yǔ)的應(yīng)及早處理掉，這樣后面的結(jié)構(gòu)就比較簡(jiǎn)單了：a friendly and cooperative partnership for peace and development。

定語(yǔ)的轉(zhuǎn)換
現(xiàn)在世界的潮流是走向和平與發(fā)展，走向緩和。
In today's world，the trend is towards peace，development and relaxation Of tension．
有時(shí)譯員會(huì)思想不太集中，一下子想不出適當(dāng)?shù)脑~語(yǔ)和結(jié)構(gòu)，這時(shí)可使用化繁為簡(jiǎn)的辦法。在翻譯“現(xiàn)在世界的(潮流)”時(shí)，如一下子想不出如何把兩個(gè)前置定語(yǔ)(“現(xiàn)在”與“世界的”)正確地搭配在一起，不妨采用轉(zhuǎn)換與分解的辦法。此譯員先轉(zhuǎn)譯成他熟悉的In today's world，由于這是一個(gè)相對(duì)獨(dú)立的詞組，不必再考慮它與trend的搭配關(guān)系了。
