首屆全民閱讀大會(huì)4月23日在京開(kāi)幕。中共中央總書(shū)記、國(guó)家主席、中央軍委主席習(xí)近平發(fā)來(lái)賀信，表示熱烈的祝賀。習(xí)近平希望廣大黨員、干部帶頭讀書(shū)學(xué)習(xí)，修身養(yǎng)志，增長(zhǎng)才干；希望孩子們養(yǎng)成閱讀習(xí)慣，快樂(lè)閱讀，健康成長(zhǎng)；希望全社會(huì)都參與到閱讀中來(lái)，形成愛(ài)讀書(shū)、讀好書(shū)、善讀書(shū)的濃厚氛圍。

The First National Conference on Reading was held in Beijing on Saturday. Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, sent a congratulatory letter to the conference. Xi called on Party members and officials to take the lead in reading and learning, foster virtues and ideals and improve abilities. He hoped that all children will have a habit of reading, enjoy reading and grow up in a healthy way. He also expressed a wish that all Chinese people are engaged in reading and contribute to an atmosphere where everyone loves reading, has good books to read and knows how to gain from reading.

首屆全民閱讀大會(huì)由中央宣傳部（國(guó)家新聞出版署）、北京市委、北京市政府指導(dǎo)，中宣部出版局、北京市委宣傳部主辦，主題為“閱讀新時(shí)代、奮進(jìn)新征程”，包括系列論壇、展覽展示、發(fā)布和主題活動(dòng)等環(huán)節(jié)。有關(guān)部門(mén)負(fù)責(zé)同志、出版發(fā)行單位和社會(huì)組織代表、專(zhuān)家學(xué)者和作家讀者代表等參加大會(huì)。

大會(huì)開(kāi)幕現(xiàn)場(chǎng)發(fā)布的第十九次全國(guó)國(guó)民閱讀調(diào)查結(jié)果顯示，2021年我國(guó)成年國(guó)民各類(lèi)媒介的綜合閱讀率為81.6%，中青年人成為數(shù)字化閱讀的主體，紙質(zhì)圖書(shū)的閱讀優(yōu)勢(shì)仍然明顯。2021年我國(guó)成年國(guó)民人均紙質(zhì)圖書(shū)閱讀量為4.76本，高于2020年，有11.9%的國(guó)民年均閱讀10本及以上紙質(zhì)圖書(shū)。在傳統(tǒng)紙質(zhì)媒介中，2021年我國(guó)成年國(guó)民人均每天讀書(shū)時(shí)間最長(zhǎng)，為21.05分鐘。調(diào)查還顯示，2021年我國(guó)0-17歲未成年人圖書(shū)閱讀率為83.9%，其中14-17歲青少年課外圖書(shū)的人均閱讀量最大，為13.1本。該年齡段未成年人每天的閱讀時(shí)長(zhǎng)為51.90分鐘。

閱讀是人類(lèi)獲取知識(shí)、啟智增慧、培養(yǎng)道德的重要途徑，可以讓人得到思想啟發(fā)，樹(shù)立崇高理想，涵養(yǎng)浩然之氣。中華民族自古提倡閱讀，講究格物致知、誠(chéng)意正心，傳承中華民族生生不息的精神，塑造中國(guó)人民自信自強(qiáng)的品格。

Reading is an important avenue for humans to acquire knowledge, expand wisdom and cultivate virtues. It enlightens us and helps us aim high and stand upright. Since ancient times, the Chinese people have advocated reading and stressed the acquisition of knowledge through studying the nature of things and rectification of mind through thinking with sincerity. Reading helps the Chinese people to carry on the traditional spirit of perseverance and shape their character of self-confidence and self-reliance.
